October Plans: ʻUkulele in Waikoloa and Saturday Shopping

An evening lesson and two Saturday gatherings offer different ways to plan the coming days on Hawaiʻi Island. Here are the dated details for an ʻukulele class in Waikoloa, a rummage sale at Puna Hongwanji, and the Kamuela Farmers Market. All times below are Hawaii time.

Wednesday, October 14: ʻUkulele at Queens’ Marketplace

Kris Fuchigami teaches an ʻukulele lesson from 6–7 p.m. at Coronation Pavilion, Queens’ Marketplace, 69-201 Waikoloa Beach Drive.

The organizer says instruments and sheet music are available to the first nine participants on a first-come basis. You may also bring your own ʻukulele. The dated event page confirms this session; it does not establish availability for any later date.

Saturday, October 17: Puna Hongwanji Rummage Sale

The rummage sale runs 8 a.m.–noon. The organizer lists clothing, furniture, items in the social hall, and access to the Puna Hongwanji Boutique. A concession stand will be open, and a holding area is planned for purchases while visitors continue shopping.

Saturday, October 17: Kamuela Farmers Market

The Kamuela Farmers Market meets at Pukalani Stables, 67-139 Pukalani Road, from 7:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Its published Saturday schedule lists produce, prepared food, crafts and live music.

This is a separate market from the Wednesday gathering at the same location. Use the Saturday organizer’s details when planning this visit.

Before You Go

Check the linked event and organizer pages for changes. The lesson and rummage-sale pages do not explicitly state admission charges; this guide does not label them as confirmed free activities. Food, merchandise and other purchases are separate from attendance.
